How do I calculate the right size of an urn I need?

Just like people and pets, urns come in many different shapes and sizes. The general rule of thumb is for every pound of the person's total weight you will need one cubic inch of space. So if a person weighed 150 lbs. you will need an urn that is 150 cubic inches or larger.

When selecting a cremation urn most people try to find a style of an urn that reminds them of their loved ones and beloved pets. It can be a real gut feeling when you first see the right cremation urn and you just know this is the one.

Pet Urn comes in a variety of sizes: small (up to 30 cubic inches), medium (up to 50 cubic inches), large (up to 70 cubic inches) and extra-large (up to 100 cubic inches).

Can I store ashes in an urn without a plastic bag?

Yes, you can pour ashes directly into all the urns we offer with the exception of copper urns that come with plastic bags due to seams not being airtight.

Then the lid on our urns can be sealed by placing a bead of silicon adhesive on the inside rim of the bowl and pressing the lid into place. Some of our wooden urns come with either a screw on lid or a bottom round piece that is held by screws. Both types of urns let you store ashes in an urn without sealing it.

Can urns be shipped directly to a funeral home?

Yes. Provide us with the name and address of the funeral home you wish your urn to be shipped to and note in the Special Instructions box during the checkout that your urn is being shipped to a funeral home.
